Is the Hotel Torre Praia worth it? Our review
Yes, just for the view! Settled on the hotel terrace facing the ocean, we enjoyed a moment suspended in time. As we ate breakfast, we watched the sun rise above Pico de Baixo. Warmed by its first rays, we sipped our tea, marvelling at the view before us. The direct access to the beach was particularly pleasant for a stroll at sunrise or sunset. Take advantage of this unique setting to enjoy an exceptional stay in Porto Santo!
Decoration and atmosphere
The hotel’s traditional decor creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere that immediately put us at ease. Natural materials such as wood and wicker are very much in evidence. Comfortable, elegant furnishings invite you to relax, while works of art, plants and handicrafts add a touch of authenticity to the communal areas.

The room
Although classic, the decoration of our room had a certain cachet. We liked the wooden furniture, including the desk area, headboard and bedside tables. The long curtains let the natural light filter through, adding a softness to the room.
Our room’s main asset? As you’ll have gathered from our photos, it’s undoubtedly the large bay window overlooking a row of palm trees. From our balcony, we could look out over the hotel pool and the ocean.

The bathroom
Our bathroom featured a walk-in shower that opened onto the room. We found hygiene products and a hairdryer at our disposal. We really liked the pretty marble-effect vanity unit. It added a touch of elegance to the space.
The breakfast
Breakfast takes the form of an extensive buffet. We appreciated the variety of products on offer, both sweet and savoury. With fresh fruit, Viennese pastries, a variety of breads and cold meats, everyone could compose their own plate to suit their tastes.
Although the breakfast room, with its many windows, is very pleasant, we advise you to sit out on the outdoor terrace. Perhaps you’ll have the chance to watch a magnificent sunrise over the island as you enjoy breakfast!

The swimming pool
The hotel’s organically shaped swimming pool blends perfectly into the landscape. Surrounded by a terrace with comfortable deckchairs and palm trees, it’s a true haven of peace.
What’s more? A fenced-in area with a low water level, specially designed for young children, allowing the whole family to enjoy swimming in complete safety.
Equipment and common areas
The hotel offers a wide range of facilities to satisfy both young and old. The gym, equipped with large mirrors, provides a pleasant, spacious setting for training. There’s also a squash court. For your leisure time, there’s a games room with pool and table tennis tables. Finally, for quiet moments, a reading room is located at the top of the hotel tower, offering spectacular views and the perfect environment in which to relax with a good book.
The restoration
The hotel features a Snack-Bar Pizzeria ideally located directly on the beach, offering a breathtaking view of the ocean. It is also home to the Salinas Restaurant, where you can enjoy breakfast.
A little history
The hotel was built around the majestic tower you can see in our photo. Formerly attached to a lime and cement factory, this tower lends the hotel’s architecture a historic dimension and unique character, enriching the stay experience. We loved climbing to the top of this structure for a breathtaking view of the island!

From Porto Santo Airport, it couldn’t be easier! To reach the Hotel Torre Praia, first exit the airport, then turn left at the traffic circle into Estrada Francisco Rodrigues Jardim. Then turn left at Rampa da Fontinha onto the ER111 and then directly right onto Rua Goulart Medeiros. The hotel is located in this cul-de-sac facing the ocean. The journey takes less than 5 minutes.
