Getting around Funchal<\/h3>\n\n

Funchal’s Old Town is easy to explore on foot, but keep in mind that the town is spread out and hilly. The narrow streets in the historic center are cobblestone and sometimes very steep, which can be tiring. For trips outside the city center, a bus network serves the entire city (more info here<\/a>). We also recommend the hop-on, hop-off bus<\/a>, which lets you visit the main attractions at your own pace at any of the 30 stops. For trips to Monte, the cable car departing from the waterfront remains the most direct option.<\/p>\n\n
