Parking and access
Better visibility for stopping on the way to Porto da Cruz.
Space for about 4 cars, but it’s a detour, not a busy road, so there’s often plenty of room.
But there is a larger parking lot nearby.
The view is along the road.

View description
From the miradouro, situated at an altitude of 670 m, you can enjoy a beautiful panorama of the Porto da Cruz valley.
The site is very lush, with a beautiful diversity of plants. It’s a very representative image of the island.

But the detour to this viewpoint is especially worthwhile, as it offers a great view of the recognizable Penha de Aguia mountain.
This unique mountain rises to an altitude of around 590 m, with steep faces.
It is located between Porto da Cruz and Faial and is an imposing sight.

On the right, near the town of Porto da Cruz, you can see a small islet close to the coast. This is Ilheu do Porto da Cruz. The size comparison with the mountain, which has a similar shape, is amusing. Don’t you think?
